FOR OUR LATTER-DAY SAINT FRIENDS

Our church is located in Utah, which is home to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (preferably known as Latter-day Saints for short or more commonly as Mormons). These people are our family members, co-workers and neighbors, and we love them. We understand that there are those in the Latter-day Saint faith who are frustrated, have been hurt, or sense that there may be something more. We welcome you to explore your faith with us and hope you might come and worship with us.

Sometimes people wonder how our church is different from the Latter-day Saint tradition. Or maybe you are a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and curious about coming to a different church. Here is what we believe here at Community Presbyterian:

We are different in that we believe…

  • God is Spirit, God is one, and the only God, not an exalted man.

  • Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, the sole Lord and Savior, who existed from the beginning, and not the firstborn of many children of someone called Heavenly Father.

  • A person is saved solely by grace and the life of Jesus Christ, not by their own worthiness or religious works.

  • The Bible is the sole Word of God, and our authority for faith and life. We do not hold to any other extra books, nor do we believe they are Scripture.

  • We are not the only exclusive church but are part of the larger Christian Church which is a wide and diverse body of people of different traditions within the one Christian family.
