Mission Committee

The Mission Committee of Community Presbyterian Church support missions in the local, national and international communities. The committee is chaired by an elder and has as many members as want to serve.  Please contact Rita Osborn at osborn@suu.edu if you would like to assist the Mission Committee with any of these ministries.

In the Church:

  • Planning mission trips (participants always desired, too).
  • Presenting "Minutes for Mission" before worship.
  • Helping with the summer lunch program for low-income children.
  • Working in the church's Grow & Share Garden.
  • Writing newsletter articles about the various missions we support.

In the Community:

  • Providing Christmas presents to children of incarcerated parents through Angel Tree Ministries.
  • Collecting food and non-perishible items for Iron County Care and Share (ICCS).
  • Assisting those with needs beyond or outside of ICCS's scope.
  • Supporting the Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen.
  • Providing lunches to hungry school children through the Summer Lunch Program.

In the World:

  • Supporting 2 children through Compassion International. Learn more about Kevin and Elixander.

The Mission Committee is also responsible for distributing mission giving money.  In 2010 giving included:
